Hike The Redwoods In The Rain

Of course, there are lots of gorgeous places to meander among the big trees along the Mendocino Coast. But few will reward you as richly as the Russian Gulch State Park. In the wintertime the forest comes to life with mist that falls from the trees, glistening ferns, mushrooms of all shapes, colors and sizes seem to spout like fungi fountains, and banana slugs slither across the trails. Wend your way to the Falls Loop Trail where the winter rains should have Russian Gulch creek running high and clear, making the falls even more magnificent.
